The Diocese of Upper South Carolina is part of the Episcopal Church, USA and a member of the Anglican Communion. Our Bishop is the Right Reverend Dorsey F. Henderson, Jr. Our rector is the Reverend L. Howard Maltby. Our Asssistant Rector is the Reverend Karen Humbert

Our Mission Statement

"To be a beacon and magnet to all in the Lexington area, allowing God to move us from self love to Christ love through worship, learning and service; that we might be servants and friend to Him, to each other, to all creatures." This is our church mission statement, adopted by the congregation in 1982.

As part of our mission of servanthood and friendship, we strive to build community and to welcome all those who are searching. The Episcopal Church has long been a home for seekers. We are a people seeking to know God and to discover how God is working in our lives; we value inquiry, dialogue, and the process of spiritual journey; we look to Scripture, Tradition, and Reason together to help us understand God and the world.
